Verification / Validation Statement Policy

Policy on the Use of BST Statements

01 Use of Opinions and Reports
All validation and verification (V/V) statements, opinions, and reports issued by BST are the exclusive property of BST. Clients are granted a limited license to use these documents solely for their intended purpose as defined in the engagement scope.
02 The "Entirety" Requirement
To ensure the technical integrity and context of our findings, any V/V statement or opinion intended for public disclosure—including corporate websites, annual reports, sustainability reports, or investor communications—must be communicated in its full and complete form.
The selective presentation of data, extraction of partial quotes, or omission of qualifying notes and caveats is strictly prohibited.
  • Any reference to BST’s findings must include a direct link or report number to the unabridged Verification Statement to ensure full traceability.
03 Restriction on Marks and Logos
The use of BST’s name, logo, or verification marks is subject to the following controls:
  • No Product Endorsement: Marks must not be used on products or packaging in any way that suggests product certification or regulatory approval.
  • Contextual Accuracy: Marks may only be used in direct connection with the specific claim, reporting period, and scope that has been verified.
  • Reputational Integrity: Any misleading or ambiguous use that impairs the reputation of BST will result in an immediate requirement for withdrawal.
04 Misuse and Monitoring
BST reserves the right to require the immediate correction or removal of any improper references to our work. Failure to comply may result in the formal suspension or withdrawal of the issued statement or report.

Status of V/V Statements

01 Inquiry and Accessibility
Unless restricted by a specific programme, BST provides the status of any issued validation or verification (V/V) statement upon request. We maintain traceable records of all V/V engagements, including their issuance, validity period, and any updates or revisions.
02 Traceability and Defined Status
When an authorised party enquires about the status of a V/V statement, we confirm whether the statement is:
  • Valid and Current: The statement is active and compliant.
  • Suspended: The statement is temporarily inactive pending further action.
  • Withdrawn: The statement is no longer valid.
  • Superseded: The statement has been replaced by an updated version.
03 Confidentiality and Legitimate Need
This information is provided in accordance with our confidentiality, impartiality, and record-management procedures, and only to parties with a legitimate need for the information or as allowed by the applicable programme rules.
